About the course

In first-grade mathematics, students develop an understanding of place values up to 100, as well as strategies for two-digit addition and subtraction, telling time, and  lengths and shapes.

Chapters

Chapter 1

Students will learn how to add and subtract on a number line, compare numbers and the addition of many numbers at a time. They will learn how to visualize and write equations using addition and subtraction strategies.

Chapter 2

Students will learn how to build number graphs using bar graphs and tally marks. They will also learn how to compare numbers.

Chapter 3

Students will learn “how many more” problems with difference and subtractions. They will also learn multiple number addition and subtraction and fact families.

Chapter 4

Students will learn how to tell time with whole and half hours, minutes, and seconds. They will also earn how to read the calendar and use it in real life situations.

Chapter 5

Students will learn what basic shapes are and how to measure them in inches and centimeters. They will learn what three-dimensional shapes are.

Chapter 6

Students will learn sentence problems using your addition and subtraction strategies. They will learn the trick with 8 and 9.

Chapter 7

Students will learn how to count coins and use them in real life situations.
